Andrey Kuznetzov's Lubki: Faux traditional folk Russian prints of famous Hollywood movies

A Lubok (plural Lubki) is a Russian popular print generally engraved on wood. The Lubki are characterized by simple graphics and narratives derived from literature, religious stories and popular tales. Lubki prints were used as decoration in houses and inns and can be considered as ancestors of modern comics.

Andrey Kuznetzov modernize them with his interpretations of Anaconda, The Lord of the Rings, Spiderman, Mission Impossible, War of the Worlds, Matrix, Harry Potter, Fahrenheit 451, Star Wars ...

Andrey Kuznetzov was born in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in 1966 and graduated from the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute in 1992 and from the Highest Directing Courses at the State Institute of Cinematography in 2003.
